These divination mats are made from velvet, and are used in conjunction with dowsing pendulums.

The board of divination, also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a flat board marked with the numbers 0–9, the words “yes”, “no”, “perhaps”,”try again”, and days of the week, along with signs of zodiac. It uses a pendulum to indicate the spirit’s message by spelling it out on the board during a seance.
